This entire scene was one of my favorites from Brotherhood. Great game, great characters, great sense of emotion from everybody.
This thoughtful magical girl has large yellow eyes and short, straight, silky, blue hair worn in a practical style. She has a curvy figure. She has earth powers that are invoked by rituals. Her outfit is gray and black in even proportions, looks like a fusion of a nun’s habit and a shameless pop singer’s skimpy outfit, and it has an odd look that suggests geological strata.
AKA Slutty earthbending nun
I’d watch this show.
Hell I would probably love this show.
oh wait whoops that wasn’t supposed to happen
complete accident here, noticed a little too late
whatever, not changing it.
Excellent, just excellent!! The art style is very reminiscent of Genndy Tartakovsky, to a point that you’d swear he worked on the film, but he had no involvement. Cartoon elements aside, the backgrounds and other visuals are absolutely stunning. The forest, the monsters, and of course, the gorgeous pages within the Book of Kells. Which are actually incredibly detailed replications of the real thing! And they’re even animated!! It’s truly incredible that such fine, detailed work was even possible in such a time. The art style is inspired by the illuminated illustrations from the pages of the real Book of Kells. The film is really about the origin of the book, and how the fine details of its illustrations were achieved. The scene in which the main character Brendan obtains the means to create these gorgeous illustrations is my absolute favorite scene in the whole film, but I won’t spoil it for anyone.

And the music, AAH~ I learned of Bruno Coulais through his work in Coraline, but this soundtrack easily surpasses it, thanks to his collaborative efforts with the Irish folk band Kila. If you are at all a fan of mysticism and folklore, you will definitely appreciate the sound of the film as well as its artwork. I would recommend this movie to anyone who can appreciate art in all its forms, as the film is full of it, and all of it is amazing.
But why take my word for it? Just watch it.

Looks like I’m gonna be listening to the Secret of Kells soundtrack more often when drawing, especially when working on stuff for @bmmbooshoot’s game.
